curve-down

The AESPUMP of today differs markedly from the original repairs division, having expanded operations to include new pump sales, the repair of flame-proof pumps for the mines, and Belzona protective coatings.

The workshop is equipped to handle machines of up to 20 tons.

AESPUMP’s test bay delivers a truly world-class service, the purpose of which is to extend the life of repaired rotating machines and increase the mean time between failures.

The bay allows accurate measurement of pump performance, so that the customer is supplied with a performance curve showing precisely how that pump is performing. Test curves not up to OEM specification are accompanied by a list of the repairs needed and the cost.

Equipment Condition Monitoring

All AESPUMP customers have access to condition-based maintenance and engineering consulting services.

AESPUMP’s approach to condition-based maintenance integrates the core disciplines of vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis, ultrasound and lubrication management. The focus is on equipment reliability and improvements in machine availability.

Target markets include not only petrochemicals, but also mining, automotive manufacture, the food and beverage industry, and paper and pulp manufacture.

Belzona Protective Coatings

Belzona is a UK-based multinational represented in South Africa by AESPUMP, whose customers have access to all the Belzona’s specialised industrial protective coatings and rebuild/repair composites.

Though widely associated with protective pump and pipe coatings, Belzona’s polymeric epoxy products have the applications in many fields. There are composites to restore environmentally damaged buildings and structures, compounds to repair mechanically damaged components and to prevent corrosion and water penetration, and products to protect against abrasion, erosion and chemical attack.

The rationale for rebuilds using Belzona compounds lies in the potential savings offered by the process. On metal products, parts replacement can cost up to three times the cost of a Belzona rebuild.
